This engine runs on a real operative system. Seven stats. Ten gear slots. A loot roller that would make black-market dealers jealous. Every piece of hardware drops with randomized mods, scaled to your clearance level, colored by rarity. Your Luck stat tips the scales on every roll. Fixers rotate their stock daily. Consumables stack. Gear burns out if you push it too hard. The rules are deep enough to reward mastery and simple enough to learn by playing.

No passwords to remember. Passkey login gets you in and running in seconds. Write a cover identity, pick an operation, and go. The handler remembers where you’ve been, what you’ve done, and who you’ve double-crossed. Wander off the grid and the network grows to meet you. This is your run. Every operation is a conversation. Here’s what a few moments in the network look like.

Sector 7 Breach Leave

The terminal flickers against polished black glass. Ahead, the network forks. Left tunnels into a dormant corporate subnet. Right hums with encrypted traffic and something else. Automated countermeasures, maybe.

I run a passive scan on the left subnet and listen for heartbeats.

Dead packets. Residual encryption fragments. You hold the scan steady. Past the first firewall layer, faint pings. Something cycling through port sequences, slowly, deliberately. Whatever it is, it knows this network better than you do. Glitch flickers beside you, antennae raised.

I signal Glitch to hold position and deploy my decryptor.

The exploit unfolds silently through the subnet. The port cycling stops. A long data burst floods the buffer, then silence. Glitch blinks twice, processes whirring. Something metallic glints in the packet debris at the edge of the breach.
